SPRING TIME BRINGS GREAT SLEDDING!

No question, we had a great powder season.  I rode the deepest snow I’ve ever ridden this winter.
Granted, the weather sucked most of the time the snow was deep!  But we did have 6 or 7 deep, deep
powder days that really made our world turn!  And now with chute-climbing season underway,
the days are getting crazy!  We literally have 50 first ascents in new areas lined up.  So I need to
ask all you Thunderstruck fans out there, let’s pray and hope for a SUNNY April and May!  The more
sun we have, the more of those first ascents we’ll take down!  So sunshine, please show your face!

This is a picture of the new sled I just built, it’s a Yamaha Nytro 162 with a pump-gas MC Xpress
270hp turbo kit!  It runs amazing.  Built by Mark Leipheimer of Butte, MT (MCX USA), this is
truly a dream come true.  Special thanks to all my sponsors who made this sled and my riding season
come true as dreamy winterlands!!  My sponsors ROCK!!

PUYALLUP SNOW SHOW PICTURES

We also hit the Flirting with Danger Show Friday night and had a riot with friends both old and new!

And of course Saturday night was the CRAZY “Roadhouse” Party that we started throwing 5 years ago!  It was a riot and with all the dancing and karaoke
the night rocked on and on and ended on a great note!  Thanks to friends and fans who attended!  Enjoy the pictures!

190th Fighter Squadron

A10 Edit 002 web

Scott, Julio and I along with Chris Jones (Boise) and some amazing A-10 Thunderbolt Pilots had another fun day in the sun down at Gowen Field filming and taking pictures of the 190th Fighter Squadron. What an honor for us to be on the flightline with the men and women who protect this country! Thank you to all those at Gowen Field who have helped us over the year and look for an amazing A-10 tribute on Thunderstruck 5 in August! See the LIFESTYLE GALLERY for more pictures!

THUNDERSTRUCK 5 NEWSFLASH!

The Cover artwork for Thunderstruck 5, our August 2006 release, is finished and looks amazing. Instead of doing a single picture format like we did for Thunderstruck 4, we took an amazing climbing shot of Randy Swenson and overlaid a huge number ’5′ which has 10 embedded pictures within it. It is very colorful and is something you can look at over and over and always see something new. The other riders pictured on the cover (embedded in the ’5′) are: Cody Bahny, Joe Bushilla, Dan Davidoff, Julie Marquart, Brad Story, Carl Christianson, Shane Hedden and Cam Hicks (two of these riders are pictured twice).
The TS5 teaser is finished but we are having trouble obtaining rights to the song we used. Unless we get permission soon, I will change the song and have the teaser up next Monday or Tuesday, I promise!!

Military Days

It was a boring Thursday morning when the Extraction coordinates came across my computer. Cell phones starting ringing throughout the inland Northwest. Friends and riders of Thunderstruck were called to action and oh yeah. . . Bring your cameras. Flash ahead to today as Wade looks into the camera. . . “Just another tough day at the office. . .” he exclaims. Just then the desert silence is shattered by the whump-whump-whump of a Blackhawk helicopter. The 2 F-15s that were dogfighting and dropping counter-measures bug out. Wade raises his hands in welcome as the Blackhawk comes in at low level and the extraction team arrives. As the Blackhawk unloads and departs, the roar of far-off jet engines fill the sky. A quick briefing by our insider, and cameras are set with watchful eyes on the enemy targets and insurgents. The roar of jet engines gets louder and a call is made to look east just above the deck. At 380 mph and only 100 feet above us, the mock bombing runs commence with the crack of the A-10 Thunderbolt’s engines slapping sound waves off the sleds and riders of Team Thunderstruck. Sortie after sortie of A-10s roll into our position to “take us out”. A local farmer looks in awe as an A-10 rocks over just as an Apache takes out a lone insurgent in the field. The sky is filled with the thump of the rotors and the roar of the A-10s as the extraction chopper, a Blackhawk, enters stage left through a tight canyon. A hot extraction leads to an awe-inspiring exclamation point as our truck movements incite the A-10 pilots into several more bombing runs to finally neutralize us. . . Minutes later Julio watches in repose as the A-10s do dipped wing salutes to us while the Apache escorts the Blackhawk to safety. The A-10s strut some fancy moves again and as fast as they came in on us, they are gone. . .
